About
Our Garden was started in 2010 by neighbor Bobby Rodriguez as a way to bring the community together through shared gardening. Today, it is lovingly managed by Jaye and Jerry McClure, who bring a deep commitment and over 20 years of gardening experience to the space.
Located in the heart of Old Lake Highlands on the property of Lake Highlands Baptist Church, Our Garden continues to grow thanks to the support of neighbors, volunteers, and local partners. A portion of our harvest is donated to the White Rock Center of Hope to help provide fresh produce to families in need.
Whether you're an experienced gardener or just getting started, there's a place for you here. Come grow with us!
Get Involved
Our Garden is entirely powered by community volunteers—and we’d love for you to be part of it! Neighbors from Old Lake Highlands, East Dallas, and beyond are welcome to join our regular garden workdays, held on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of each month. We adjust meeting times with the seasons—cool summer mornings and warm winter afternoons—so be sure to check the Workdays page for the latest schedule.
Can’t make it in person? You can still support Our Garden by contributing through our GoFundMe or purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist. Every bit of support helps us grow fresh food, strengthen community, and give back to neighbors in need.
